ENG1 Medical

If you are looking to make a career at sea, The MLC (Maritime Labour Convention) states that every seafarer must have a valid medical certificate, also known as an ENG1.

The medical proves that you don’t have any serious medical conditions that could prevent you from performing your duties on board.

Further information about ENG1 medicals can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/seafarer-medical-certificates

As part of the medical, you will need to provide a urine sample so that your kidney function and blood sugar levels can be tested. This is not a drugs test.
